Why a screenshot is not enough in vertical
A software interface is designed for a wide screen. Dropped as is into a 9:16 frame, it turns tiny, hard to read and motionless. MotionMaker does not photograph your product. It reads the components of your site in the page and redraws them one by one as animated elements that can enter, be highlighted and leave.
The principle is the same as for any video made from a website: the address is the starting point, because your site already holds the logo, the palette, the tone and the wording you stand behind.
What MotionMaker reads on a SaaS site
- Identity: logo, colors, editorial tone, sector.
- Arguments: the value statements your own site puts forward.
- Offer: the products or features the brand presents, when the site describes them.
- Interface components: the ones the page really displays, read from the DOM.
The reading happens once. The kit is kept, and you can correct it by hand: logo, arguments, colors. If a page needs a login to display, MotionMaker cannot see it; fill in the kit yourself in that case.
Three film ideas, you choose
Before anything is edited, MotionMaker proposes three different film ideas. You pick one and it drives the whole cut, which avoids a string of decent shots with no storyline. For a SaaS the evergreen angles are a brand presentation, a new feature, an offer, a customer result or a hiring post.
What the film will never do
It is tempting to dress up a software film: “trusted by 10,000 teams”, “rated 4.9”. MotionMaker does not. A statistic, a testimonial or a ranking appears only if it is on your site or if you type it. Before you publish, check the replayed interface
Compare the replayed components with your site: button texts, labels, colors. They come from the page, but your product evolves; if the interface read is out of date, rescan the site to update the kit before launching a new film.
